I've had this idea cooking for a while now... in general, it's an activity in role-play.
At some point in the future, we'll hold an event. Beforehand, I'll assign everyone a character from Brawl, currently, playable and bosses only, though if we succeed, future events may let Assist Trophies and other characters in on the fun. Make sure you don't tell anyone else, though, it's a secret!
Anyways, for a weekend, I'm going to lock down EVERY forum. Turn off post increments - everyone will have 0 posts. Usernames will be changed into a character, avatars will be changed into pictures of said character, and we'll all interact as if we WERE that character in a special forum created for the event.
For example, Lord Pyre is assigned Donkey Kong. His avatar is an image of Donkey Kong, and his username is no longer "Lord Pyre" but is instead changed to "Donkey Kong." He can play this however he wants. Here's some possible posts...

The only limit is your imagination. Play them like the characters act in their games, in their cartoons, in their movies, or the opposite of their normal personality. It's your choice!
Of course, as the main Admin and runner of this event, only I would know who's who. Me and MetaNite that is... of course, if he likes, he can join you all down on the ground. I'll revoke his admin-ism for the weekend, and restore it when we're done. If so, I'll be Tabuu, and run things by myself. If not, one of us will be Master Hand, and the other Crazy Hand. Make your choice, Nitesy.
There are a few things I'm still not certain on...
1) When should it be held? Currently, I'm thinking late July to early August... the 8th-10th, maybe? I'm certain it'll be Friday through Sunday, though.
2) Should you all get to choose your characters, or should I assign them randomly? Choosing them would let you play better, but assigning them could bring more creativity, and be a LOT more fun...
3) I intend to hold a vote of sorts after the fact, for who was best as their character. But I'm not sure if I should do though BEFORE we reveal who everyone is, or after.
4) How should we get members? A sign-up sounds best, I think, but any other ideas would be nice to hear.
Any and all input would be great! Hopefully this is received well... don't want another disaster on my hands!

Sounds interesting, but if we pick our own characters, chances are we'll know who is who. I can probably guess that Heroic Monkey is one of the three characters in his signature, etc.

Ah, yes, that was another problem I was going to mention - if we pick our own characters, odds are there won't be much of a mystery.

1) I will be in Utah for a week sometime in late July. Other than that, any time would work. If I'm gone when you're having the event don't postpone the fun just for me.
2) I think it should be randomly assigned, otherwise certain people wouldn't be able to resist choosing certain mallet-wielding characters...
3) I think doing it before would be more interesting.
4) Sign-up sounds good.

Alright, consensus seems to be random character assignment... in a few days I'll open some polls; see when everyone wants things to be held, setting, etc.

Are we allowed to spark fueds between our characters, if doing so fits our characters? I.e. Can the Bowser player attempt to kidnap the princess?

You can certainly ATTEMPT to... though you can't, say, maul Mario to death. "Godmodding" is generally against the rules, so you can't control other characters, act like you're super powerful, destroy things, etc.
