Shiny pokemon?

Does anyone know if you can get a shiny pokemon from an egg?

Yes you can. I got a shiny Wyunat(?), pre-evo of Wobbuffet. You can have it if you like.

You can also "chain" for shinies. Some people argue whether or not this actually works, but I got a shiny blue Ditto this way (it took about 2 hours and was very tedious). The link is here if you're interested (it's Shuko's guide). You might want to also watch this video to see what the patches of grass look like when they contain a shiny.

I wouldn't hatch a bunch of eggs to try to find shinies because it's a 1 in 8192 chance.

Did you watch the video though?  It might seem a bit difficult to chain them, but once you figure it out, like she said in the video, it will become 2nd nature.
I've only caught one shiney in my many years if playing.

i've only seen a shiny sableye on emerald, it was brown. I ran out of pokeballs before i could catch it.

I've seen a shiny Wurmple and Oddish in Emerald. The Oddish was in the Safari Zone, and ran away before I could catch it, and for the Wurmple, I wasn't paying much attention, and ran away before I saw that it was bright red.

I can't believe what just happened. My little sister (under the age of 10) just came up to me and said "look at my new orange Pokemon" (it was a shiny Graveler). She found it in a cave by accident. Holy crap!

I have always been annoyed by my friend finding a Green Ladios. We had a panic attack, and he failed to catch it. He lost the game somewhere, and we never saw the beauty again. *Sigh*

Now that we're back on topic, I don't have Wifi for my DS, so I can't battle or trade with anyone online.  
Makes it hard to get shineys and the pokerus.

I have Pokerus on my Sandshrew...randomly found it and fainted.

I randomly found the Pokerus as well (on my Pearl). I couldn't believe it. I think it was from a wild Zubat in one of the caves.

I got PokeRus a while ago on my Sapphire... and, in both a lucky and unlucky way, my Internal Clock died meaning none of my Pokemon would ever lose it.

Kewl stuff.

Really?  Thats impressive, isn't it like a 1/2136...5423% chance of finding it?  And do you have to catch pokemon to find it, or just battle?

No idea. Just checked my PC once and, boom, half of my Grass Box was infected. I'm pretty sure it was from a Gloom (or maybe Oddish) I caught in the Safari Zone, so... that.

Johnny, if you store the Pokerus properly you can always have its benefit.

Just take the Pokemon with the Pokerus, spread it to your entire party, and then take another weakling Pokemon that you will never use (Bidoof, etc). Then store the Bidoof in the PC and it will last forever. Every once in a while you will want to find another Bidoof and spread the Pokerus to it. This is because the virus' "clock" will not tick when it's in the computer, but it will when you take it out.

And once the virus goes away on a Pokemon, a little happy face icon will appear. This gives the same benefit as the Pokerus, but you can't spread it to other Pokemon.

I had Pokerus in my Crystal game. I went to a center and was very surprised! I don't remember what gave it to my party, but it lasted only a very short while. Kinda cool, though!

I got like a dozen Pokes with Pokerus off the GTS. Probably hacked.

I think you have to catch it from a wild poke you capture, or get it from a previously infected poke'mon traded by your friend.  We found Pokerus on my friend's Medicham.  He said that it was there since he was a Meditite and didn't know what it was.  He got the meditite as an Egg, and its now lvl 100...THAT IS A STRONG MEDICHAM.

i have diamond, and ive already chained up to 3 or 4 boxes of shinies  
ill be willing to trade away some (i have a shiny rayquaza!!!!       i worship him...) and ican always chain another one(but rayquaza, my pride and joy, is an unchained shiny   )

just to lt you know, pokemon dont level up over tim, they get 1 exp for each step you take

No duh?  Thats why you put someone in the daycare (Ruby, Sapphire, etc) and then take your Acro Bike to a mud slide.  Hold the button down over night, and you'll have a leveled up pokemon.
