Online play...Alright. Heres a scenerio...
Me and my bro are playing Brawl together on the same wii. If we want to play online, do we have to take turns, or can we both play at the same time against two other players elsewhere?

Yes, two players can play online together using the same wii IF you're playing with friends. You can't do it in basic brawl with random people. Its wierd.
