I finally unlocked Kongo Jungle!So, I've had Melee for several years but I've never unlocked Kongo Jungle (a past stage from the N64 game) because the 15 Minute Melee has always given me grief. I've tried a few times using Donkey Kong's down-B attack most of the time (stopping occasionally to pick up a deadly item), but there was nothing I could do about bombs suddenly appearing in my attack's radius. It's very disappointing to have a bomb appear when there are only a minute or two left on the clock after thirteen or fourteen minutes of finger pain.
I decided to try again yesterday with Kirby instead of Donkey Kong. Kirby is a much, much, much better character to use than DK for 15 minute melee! All I had to do was grab the ledge ... to my surprise, the female wireframes spent 90% of their time away from me! The male wire frames are much more aggressive and immediately dashed for the ledge to attack me. When the enemies came too close for comfort, I used Kirby's Up-B attack.
So, the advantage of using the Kirby Ledge approach is that there is very little risk of being hit by a bomb (the wireframes seem too stupid to even pick up items) because you can just drop down and float back up if a Bob-omb starts to walk towards you.
Anyway, I finally have all the stages after all this time.
