I'm not saying I always use it, but I do, and I was wondering if it's forbidden in any of our tournaments or if anyone would hate me for using a C-stick hit every once in awhile.
I know some people here may care, but I don't. I figure it is part of the game. I decided to quit using it to avoid conflict. Been c-stick free for about 1 year.
Honestly, in Melee, I would ALWAYS forget that you can actually use the C-stick. So I never did.
In Brawl, I havn't even thought of it.
I never use it. Not because I'm against it, but because I forget it exists.
I use it with the Ice Climbers, and no, it's not banned. I mean, we couldn't even tell if someone was using it, as it looks identical to regular smashes.

c-sticking is cheating.
lol...
1. People usually always forget about it.
2. You can't tell the difference.
3. You can't charge with c-sticking.
4. If you're good enough, you can do smash attack just as fast as c-sticking, which isn't very hard. _________________

Actually, C-sticking makes the attack go one frame faster than the fastest you could execute it otherwise (if I'm correctly understanding the smashwiki entry). That only saves you about 1/60 of a second. One frame is hardly enough to make a difference; I can't ever tell when a person is C-sticking.
C-sticking makes it so that your thumb has to keep switching locations on the controller. I would think that it would be a better idea to not C-stick to allow your thumb to remain in the same place, as this would save time and allow you to quickly react to the situation. It wouldn't save much time...it wouldn't even be noticeable. If you save 1/60 of a second by c-sticking, and it takes 1/30 of a second to move the thumb, then I don't understand the usefulness of this technique.
The time saved vs. the effectiveness of C-sticking can be compared because both have such a small outcome on the result of the match.

Yeah c-sticking can be a bit handy, but not by much. I don't really see much point in it anyways. By the way, welcome to the site, donaldb! Are you from Heroscapers?
